This whole site is about living the Christian life & what it means to be a ”normal Christian”. For a few years, I’ve used the illustration of a conduit. A verse that comes to mind is when Jesus said, ”Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matt. 3:2) One day, it dawned on me, ”Wherever Jesus was THERE was the Kingdom! So, where can I find Him now?” Well, the answer is in every true believer in Jesus!!! I got so stoked at the thought that wherever I go, I bring JESUS!!! I bring the Kingdom!

WE ARE CONDUITS OF HIS LIFE!

“Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 5:16) We are also the “the salt of the earth”; ”I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

AND….it all started in the garden of Eden! He breathed into them & gave them His life & then they partook of the tree of LIFE (His life). THEN…He said, ”Be fruitful and multiply.” Multiply what? HIS IMAGE!!! He has restored His ekklesia, His body to the garden. So, like Adam & Eve, we are imagers of almighty God through the presence of His spirit IN us!!! Hallelujah!

Like a conduit, a just branch remains where it is…in Jesus! The ONLY function of a conduit is to transport something important from point A to point B. Here are some truths for you to chew on:

  • It is NOT about the conduit; there are a variety of materials used for conduits. Therefore, as we die to ourselves and ”remain in Him”, wherever we go we bring (display) Jesus’ Life!
  • There are a lot of different types of conduit that carry varied substances/material. There is NO insignificant conduit!!! There are NO better looking; talented, significant, etc. conduits. There are no ”big deals” in Christianity. We are all the same conduit at the feet of Jesus.
  • As conduits, our focus is on WHAT (who) we are transporting! As we die to ourselves, and simply rest in Jesus and walk in dependency, we have the privilege and the ultimate joy of watching HIM touch lives by His life lived THROUGH US!!!
  • It’s NOT so much about WHAT I’m doing or WHERE, but rather it has everything to do with WHY I’m doing it….hence to let Jesus life flow THROUGH ME to touch people as I do what it is I am doing!!!
  • Like conduits, we as branches, merely REMAIN where we are…IN JESUS, and rest there! We need to be obsessed with who we are ”transporting” instead of how ”ugly” of a conduit we are. Just pursue JESUS!!!
